About
Red Nations Art
Red Nations Art is an extended family
association whose members work together to create and promote museum
quality hide paintings in the style of the High Plains People. The
owner, Sonny Tuttle, established the business near Lander, Wyoming over
17 years ago. Associate family artists now include heritage from
the Sioux, Arapaho, Flathead and Acoma Nations.
We believe that we are the only group in the
country that is specializing in painted deer, elk, and buffalo hides.
We offer a wide variety of sizes and designs, and have found a ready
market among discriminating interior decorators, western art
connoisseurs, collectors, and Indian art galleries.
Hides are painted in the Warrior styles common
to the Northern Plains. All designs have been developed by Red
Nation’s artists. Paintings are done in acrylics, which are
applied with an instrument that sets paint into the pores of the
leather. Colors do not run, smear, or fade.
Custom orders are often
done for the customer who has a particular design, color scheme, or hide
in mind. We welcome calls to discuss special needs.
